What it is
Hyaluronic acid dermal filler, placed in small amounts to define the lip border, improve shape or add gentle volume. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed.

Risks and aftercare
Common: swelling, tenderness and bruising. Rare but serious: blocked blood vessel (vascular occlusion), which needs urgent treatment. I keep emergency medicines in clinic and explain warning signs before you leave.
Questions
Is it painful?
Most people find it very manageable. Numbing cream or anaesthetic is used where suitable.
Can I have treatment on the day of my consultation?
Usually you'll have time to think about your plan first. If you've already had full information and want to go ahead, we can discuss it.
Who can't have this treatment?
It isn't suitable in pregnancy or breastfeeding, for under-18s, or with some medical conditions and medicines. I check this at consultation.
